Bean’s Christmas Card 2011

I have been keeping my eye out for good deals on holiday cards this year since, oh, about the beginning of November.

One of my favorite money saving blogs, Hip2Save, posted a few REALLY good deals for Cardstore.com way back in the beginning of November (80% off sitewide!).

Of course back then I had no idea what I wanted to do for a holiday card photo so I filed that idea away for later and kept my eye open for more deals.

Today I finally got around to taking some photos for our holiday cards.  What took me so long, you may ask?

I had to finish crocheting the perfect hat for my Bean to wear, of course!

I waited until she was in a pretty good mood and the sun was set to have our little photo shoot:

Despite my only having a point and shoot camera (and not the DSLR camera I desire) I think they turned out pretty well 🙂

With a little Photoshop magic I was able to create one that I liked.

Once I got the photo nailed down I headed over to Hip2Save to see what deals were still valid and, lucky me, Cardstore.com was running 60% off sitewide. Sure it wasn’t the 70% off that they were offering yesterday, but still a huge value over what I spent on last years cards!

They also offered free shipping AND free postage if I entered in all my addresses when I ordered (and it forced me to get them addressed ahead of time, bonus!)

The moral of the story is, start checking around now to save some moolah on your holiday cards.  I HIGHLY recommend Cardstore.com . They have a huge variety of cards and, it appears to me, offer discounts fairly often.
