Hitting the Thrifty Motherload: 7 Amazing Finds

Thanks to the upcoming Halloween festivities, I have been in the local thrift shops quite a bit lately.

It’s true- the more often you go, the better treasures you find 🙂

I wanted to share what I’ve scored…

This baby is just waiting for a few coats of spray paint, then he’ll be going in my “kitschy kitchen”.

Found this gem at an antique shop in town ran by the NICEST old man. This will also find a home on a shelf in my “kitschy kitchen”.

I FINALLY found an antique printer’s tray! Also found at the antique shop, going to refinish and put in my bedroom to display my jewelry.

Ok, someone help me out with this-I know there’s a term for this kind of art but it escapes me…

Despite my hubby’s judging comments, I bought this when we were out thrifting during our Madeline Island vaca last month. It’s also going in my “kitschy kitchen”.

My vintage mug collection is finally complete! I’ll be posting the display soon. I have the collection up in my (you guessed it) “kitschy kitchen”.

This baby jumped off the rack at me as we were on our way out the door-just had to have it. Vintage, plaid, and a perfect fit? Almost too good to be true.

Also jumped off the rack at me on my way out the door. What can I say, cute vintage clothes just WANT me to buy them. Loving the color of this mint vintage Express button down.

  2. Love the embroidery! I wish I knew where to go around here for vintage stuff. I feel like the most vintage clothing I've found is from 1996. Any tips on finding the good stuff?

  3. Oh my goodness! So when I was a little girl my grandmother got me an embroidery kit that matched the above framed pic exactly! It was my first real “sewing” project and sparked my love of sewing and creating. The little hoop hangs in her sewing room to this day! As soon as I saw your post I recognized the embroidery and new that I had done that same project in my early days! Thanks for sharing!

  5. I know, I especially feel that way towards crochet afghans. They must have taken days to make, and now they're in a thrift store. But hopefully someone like me will swoop them up and give them a nice home 🙂
