That’s Pretty Neat Crafty Challenge: BUTTONS

8 week crafting challenge via peacoats and plaid

Welcome to week 2 of the “That’s Pretty Neat” 8 week crafting challenge. This week’s medium is BUTTONS…

Buttons are pretty much my favorite, so it took me about 2 seconds to come up with something. I decided to give my old kitchen clock a facelift.

All it took was an old vinyl record, spray paint, glue, buttons, and a whole lot of patience and here’s what it looks like now:

Please ignore the ugly scuff marks on my wall and the fact that it clearly took me all day as the 2nd photo was taken at night.Β

If you’d like to create your own, here’s (pretty much) exactly how I did it:

1. I started with a plain vinyl record. I decided to use large black buttons for the 12, 3, 6, and 9 and smaller black buttons for the numbers in between. I glued them down with my trusty Quick Grip.

2. Place smaller buttons for the minutes in between, glue down.

3. Spray paint clock hands (I wanted them to stand out against the black). Re-attach clock parts and enjoy your awesome new clock.

What did you create this week with buttons? I’d love to see πŸ™‚ And if you missed out this week, join me next week with LACE. document.write(”);
