My baby’s not a baby anymore.

My little Bean isn’t so little anymore 🙁 She turned 2 years old last weekend, it’s so cliche to say but time sure does fly.

This was the last photo we took of our “baby” before she turned into a toddler. This also happened to be the last photo we took before the worst night’s sleep since we brought her home from the hospital. Let’s just say that both Bean and Mommy were in tears. We’re thinking 2 year molars were the cause of that, but who knows. And look at how clean my house was!

When your toddler gets crappy sleep, you let them open their presents however they want to. This is the way she chose. Luckily we didn’t do a huge gathering, she was in FINE FORM that day. Let’s just say we all couldn’t wait for bedtime 🙂

My Dad gave her his “Buddy” (as she calls him) doll that he had at our cabin, it’s a long story. Bean loves him so much, she even sleeps with him now. Most nights as she’s relaxing in bed before she falls asleep I can hear a faint, “There’s a snake in my boot!” and a giggle.

Bean’s Nana gave her this vintage replica Fisher-Price toy camera. We told her to take a picture, this is what we got. Selfies have ruined her.

My first attempt at making a birthday cake (we had cupcakes for her 1st birthday). Despite a few potential disasters I was able to salvage it. It’s a learning process for sure. I knew I got something right when I showed Bean the cake and she said “Banana!” (what she calls minions).

She sure loves her “cream cones”. Enough said.

On our way home, all tuckered out. We’re already crossing our fingers that she gets a good night’s sleep for her 3rd birthday next year.

  1. Happy 2nd birthday to your Bean. I loved that cake. And oh the two year old molars and I are so well acquainted!! Let just say I am so glad that we are heading to 3 years old this November and not 2 again!!

  2. Too cute! I think, at that age, big parties are overrated.. keep it to family only. Save the big, exhausting parties, for later in life.

  3. She looks like she had a ball 🙂 and I LOVE that camera Bre! Where did your mam find it? I would love one for my nephew 🙂

Fantastic job on the cake – minions rock 🙂

  4. Yep. I had that realization a few months back that basically any birhday before about the age of 4? 5? is basically just for the Mommy to show off her party planning skills. And mine suck. So I'm giving it up until she begs for one lol

  5. WELL, we're living in Texas & our families are in Michigan so to make it easier on everyone we're flying up there for the party. I'm having to do some crazy long distance planning. YUCK. I just got the invites out. Pirate theme <3 They turned out amazing. I'm planning a few games for the kids but I've yet to get the details perfect.

  6. My Daughter turned 2 at the end of June, so I totally know where you are at! They grow so fast!
