See ya later.

I knew this time had to come, but that doesn't take away this weird, empty feeling.

I have decided to no longer post at Peacoats & Plaid. I'm sure this isn't that much of a shock to some of you that have been along with me on my journey as I tried to figure out how to balance a booming dance studio business with motherhood and this blog. It's all become too much. I always vowed that if the negatives started to outweigh the positives it was time to throw in the towel.

But, not all is lost. I'm starting over brand new with a personal blog at bre pea. Since I was a kid I have kept a diary or journal. This blog has been my virtual journal and a way to document our life activities and Bean's growing up, I knew I wanted to continue with this minus the stressful monetization/blog hullabaloo. I've always loved blogging as a hobby but the problem is I turned that hobby into a side business. My go-getter drive turned my blogging venture into a chore.

If you want to keep up with my life, come on over and subscribe to my new Bloglovin' or RSS feed. If not, all of the content found here will stay until who knows when.

I'll see ya later.

  3. I have always said that if it is no longer fun, I would quit too. Totally understandable! I am following you to your new blog though! It looks great!

  4. Following :)
Good for you for doing what's best for YOU instead of just doing what you think you're supposed to do or what people expect. Look forward to what you've got coming our way on the other blog!

  11. I never thought it would feel so weird to walk away from Peacoats and Plaid. It's crazy, blogs really can become a big part of your life. So glad you're following me to the other blog!

  12. I love that you have made decisions that are best for you! It's SO hard to balance 'life' and it seems that you have settled in places that are valuable and worthy of your attention. That takes courage- change is hard. I wish you the best of luck with the dance studio and your personal blog!!

  18. This is a super cute headwrap and so quick once to make! I've already made about 7 as gifts for little ones. I've seen quite a few different heart patterns but I really like the style of this one. So cute!

  19. That makes me so happy to hear! I'm glad you were able to follow the pattern quickly and easily. I would love to see your final creations :)

  20. I'm so sorry Kathryn, I just saw your comment. I'll try to explain it a different way: basically you want to make sure that the 11 TC are happening in the middle of 2 connecting sides of your square. The rounded edges should connect at the corners of each square. Does that help at all?

  21. Hi there! This is stinkin adorable! I already made it but I'm curious what ages it will fit? I don't have any kids so I'm a horrible judge at what size all the kids heads are. I would guess that your adorable little assistant is 3? Thank you!! :)

  22. Thank you! Yep, she's 3. It fit more loose on her head so it would probably fit an older kid just fine. If you wanted to get really specific, you could measure the circumference of the child's head and subtract an inch from your beginning chain to account for stretch. I've even googled kid's head sizes on crochet sites for reference before. Hope that helps!

  27. Bre,
I like the white better too. These are an easy way to add that fantasy type light you dream of being near on a sweet Summer night.
