A Day in the Life: Mom, Blogger, Dance Teacher & VLOG

I don’t know about you, but I always love seeing more into the lives of the bloggers I like to follow. Today, I’m giving you a little peek into what it’s like to be me.

Take a peek at a day in the life of a mom blogger and dance teacher! You can do it all with the help of this wonderful Lenovo product.

My typical work day doesn’t truly get going until I put Bean down for her afternoon nap. Once she’s finally asleep, I get my pot of coffee brewing and get to work. First up, blogging.

Day in the life of a mom blogger

I’m currently working on a post for mini donuts. I use my Lenovo YOGA Tablet 2 Pro to follow the recipe as I’m baking them (I never print out recipes anymore). I love that it has a built-in flip-and-fold kickstand so I can just stand it up and follow along. Did you know that it was designed by Ashton Kutcher, who is Lenovo‘s product engineer and was hands on in the concept and development the product?

Nap time is the perfect time for me to work on my blog posts uninterrupted. I finished the mini donuts just in time for Bean to wake up and beg to try a couple. Can you blame her? Just look at these babies!

Of course I obliged. And of course she made a mess out of herself. So, after a quick wardrobe change we were off to the next part of my work day: the dance studio.

I’m lucky enough that my husband works days and I work nights so that Bean doesn’t have to be in daycare. I’m also lucky that her Grandma just so happens to be my boss. She just tags along with me to the dance studio and plays with Grandma until Dad gets off work and can pick her up.

A typical night at the studio. I get the dancers all warmed up, stretched, and ready to work on their routines that we compete with.

I bring my Lenovo tablet with (so much easier than lugging a laptop around) so that I can record the girls performing the routines in the studio and review it as a team. It makes a huge difference when the kids can watch themselves and see what we as teachers are critiquing them on.

Once they’re done performing, I tell them to grab their dance notebooks, we dim the lights, and watch as a team. Even though I’ve been using the tablet practically all day, this thing has a crazy battery life (15 hours!) so I never have to worry about it dying on me during practice.

This is, in my opinion, the coolest feature of the Lenovo YOGA Tablet 2 Pro. It has a Pico projector in its barrel to project movies onto the wall. I can make the screen nice and big so that the girls can really see their technique while they’re dancing. I’ve used it in the studio but I haven’t had a chance to use it at home yet. I can’t wait for our next family movie night! When the day is all said and done, I’m usually home by 10:00, 10:30 PM ready to crash.

  2. Thanks Nicole! I am in LOVE with it. My other favorite thing to do, prop it up on the tray on my treadmill and watch TV while I run. It is PERFECT for that!

  3. Holding my laptop to video anything would be way to heavy. This is so light~! I have a Lenovo that I'm using but it's 8yrs old and this is exactly what I'd love to replace it with! It's perfect in every way. Isn't the projector and the ability to hang it up fantastic!?!?!
