My mom is better than your mom. Sorry not sorry. If you look up the definition of “selfless” in the dictionary (or on dictionary.com, who even uses real dictionaries anymore) you will see a picture of my mother. I was one of those teenagers who thought all of the other teenagers were crazy. I never fought with my mom, in fact I called her my best friend and biggest role model (still do). Now, I’m lucky enough to also call her my boss.
Every year when Mother’s Day rolls around, I put pressure on myself to find something that can live up to what my mom really deserves. I feel like this year I finally put together the best gift for my hard-working, generous, thoughtful, caring, perfect mother. Ok, maybe perfect is going a little too far, but she’s pretty darn close.
I found the One-Stop Shop at Walmart and was instantly inspired to put together a gift that would force my overworked mom to take some time for herself and relax.
I’m not one to pick out the overly flowery, mushy gushy cards. When I found this card, I knew it was “the one”. It was basically written for my mom. Plus, it has sequins on it. It’s perfect!
The bubble bath spoke to me. Relax+Relief? Bingo. She also needed a beverage to enjoy during her bath, so Pepsi it was for my Pepsi-fanatic mom. Plus, no bath time is complete without a yummy smelling candle. And finally, chocolates. Every moms favorite sweet indulgence.
I knew that just being given the supplies wasn’t going to be enough, so I also included a secret mission card. Now she must take some time for herself or risk failing the mission 😉 I can’t wait to give it to her!
