Lust-Worthy Blog Home Office Decor Inspiration

You guys… I have my own office now!!! Unfortunately, this is what it looks like literally as I’m typing this…

It’s like a game of “I Spy”, haha! I spy a Ron Swanson cross stitch pattern, a holiday Barbie, and a random photo of my husband and me from 10 years ago, what do you see? If you can’t make fun of yourself, you’re taking life too seriously, right?

Ever since I started this blog, I have dreamed of having a blog office of my own. In our old house, we had an awkwardly shaped guest bedroom in the downstairs that was kind of my office. I never liked being in there to write, the atmosphere just wasn’t inspirational.

Then, I tried to set up a little wall office on the main level of our house. That worked for giving me a desk with enough light and energy to keep me motivated, but alas because it wasn’t a delineated room I couldn’t take advantage of any of the home office tax write offs (womp, womp).

Now that we are in our DREAM HOUSE, I have my own office PLUS my husband gets to have a man cave/movie room!  The sad thing is, it’s slowly turned into the dumping grounds of all our extra “stuff”.

I found a desk through K-Bid for… wait for it… 2 DOLLARS. It is GORGEOUS. I planned on painting it, but after cleaning it up once we got it home I like the original wood. It is incredibly solid, and I’m pretty sure my family never ever ever wants to move it again lol

Besides that, I have some square shelves to organize my craft supplies and a filing cabinet for our family paperwork, but I am just not feeling like anything is cute enough. I’m thinking I need a little home office decor inspiration to ruthlessly get rid of things and turn my office into the workspace of my dreams…

My office is feeling very BOTTOM HEAVY. I am loving the organization possibilities and wall decor that a grid wall could bring to my office.

I think I’m starting to notice a theme with the inspiration that I put together: I really need to figure out what I’m doing with the walls! I love the dark accent color against the curated gallery wall in this office. Gallery walls better not go out of style EVER, I am still ob-sessed.

When I saw this next home office, I thought “GENIUS!” I love the social media handle on the wall as a bit of funky wall art. Plus, hello awesome social media promotion 😉

I am a SUCKER for a beautiful turquoise velvet chair. I am on the hunt for one (a tufted one, to be exact) to use as a desk chair. I’m also loving the lighter turquoise curtains of this home office. I have an awkward ledge in mine, so they’ll have to be shorter, but I’m searching for ones similar to these.

And last but most certainly not least, the grand daddy of all the home office inspiration that I found. This lady put together almost the EXACT look that I am hoping get with mine. I love the pastel color scheme, closet organizer (sorry husband, you’ve got another one to install…), thrifty use of organizers, I just love, love, LOVE this room!

I’m not one to pull a room together quickly, I like to take my time and let the pieces come together. It’s going to take multiple thrift store visits, time and patience to complete some projects, and definitely some online shopping to pull my perfect home office together. Stay tuned… 😉
