430+ Super Easy Healthy School Lunch Ideas for Kids

Back in my day, I was happy to have a plain ol’ peanut butter sandwich, chocolate covered “granola bar”, an apple that inevitably ended up bruised, and a juice box in my brown paper bag. I’m pretty sure lunch boxes were considered “uncool” upon entering Junior High.

Now? If you aren’t hitting all of the major food groups with organic, gluten-free, cage-free, flavor-free foods WHAT ARE YOU EVEN DOING WITH YOUR LIFE?! All jokes aside, I give myself a pat on the back for the fact that my 6 year old has yet to taste the sweet, sweet taste of a frosted Pop Tart or the bubbly goodness of corn syrupy soda.

Although Bean would probably be happy having half a PB & J sandwich every single day (and most days this is what she has), I like to change it up for her when I can. I have relied heavily on Pinterest for meal ideas because evidently I can’t function as a normal, free-thinking mom without Pinterest anymore 😀

We currently use this Bento Box for all her lunches. I am OBSESSED. It’s leak proof, has portion controlled compartments, comes in 3 different colors, and it’s dishwasher safe (although we use ours daily so I end up hand washing ours). I highly recommend this lunchbox if you have younger kiddos!

  8. This is so helpful! I don’t have kids but, I am in college and I just moved off campus so I have to make all of my meals now. Lunch has been a struggle for me, especially when I have to pack it and take it to campus with me! You should do a post about grown up lunches 🙂

  9. Speaking of Pinterest functioning…it’s likely I pinned a couple…anyway, I have a toddler, and those Bentgo boxes would basically solve my life while giving her the ability to love ketchup but not be able to dip her beefy fists into it. Thanks for saving lives, and clothes.
