Photo Scavenger Hunt Gratitude Activity Free Printable

Practically everyone has a phone nowadays.

Instead of holding everyone’s phone ransom this Thanksgiving, how about using them for a fun gratitude game that the whole family can enjoy?

I think that teaching kids gratitude is incredibly important and can prove to be a difficult task. I created this gratitude activity free printable phone game that you can play with your kids and whole family. Even those darn teens that like to live with their face in their phones will like it! 😉

Cut out the prompt words from my gratitude activity free printable and place face down. Each person takes a turn by drawing a word and finding a photo on their phone that represents the word and describes how it relates to their gratitude. Have fun discussing!

If you’re looking for a more personal gratitude exercise, why not write out your own gratitude list?

I started my own annual gratitude tradition on this blog a few years ago. Each year around Thanksgiving, I write out a list of one thing I am grateful for for each year of my age.

Without further ado and in no particular order, my List of Gratitude for 2018:

  1. Coffee: need I say more?
  2. Bean’s Wonderful School: not only is it biking distance from our house, she has been blessed with wonderful teachers! I also appreciate the fun things they do for the kids like their Halloween “Parade of People”, the Veteran’s Day program, school-wide reward popcorn parties, and more.
  3. Roller blades: if it weren’t for roller blades and my husband’s willingness to go, our crazy/energetic Husky would be unbearable in the winter or on the days I run out of time to walk the dog.
  4. IKEA: I think of IKEA as I type on my new little laptop table that I purchased during a recent trip with my sister. That place is magical 🙂
  5. My husband’s job: sure he has to travel a handful of times over the course of the year, but now that Bean is older his travel is easier to handle. He’s got a great job with great benefits that he likes to do, a win-win-win!
  6. My job: although I resisted calling it a job for so many years because it’s my passion, the bigger our studio grows the more like a job it becomes. It’s a good thing I love it so much 🙂
  7. My other job: I suppose you could call blogging my side-gig. I have taken the past two years “off”, but I’m gearing up for December and planning on really bringing Bre Pea back to it’s former glory 😉
  8. Christmas lights: is there anything more cozy than Christmas lights? Nope.
  9. Fuzzy footy pjs: I take that back. The only thing more cozy than Christmas lights is a cuddly Bean in fuzzy footy pjs.
  10. Fuzzy slippers: they’re kind of a necessity due to my darn plantar fasciitis and freezing Minnesota winters.
  11. Therapists: I don’t open up about this, but I started seeing a therapist this past summer after a recommendation from my endocrinologist. It was very eye opening, and I like knowing that if the need arises again I have someone I trust in my back pocket.
  12. Recycling: I am a huge recycling nerd and pride myself on the fact that we fill our recycling bin way faster than our garbage bin. It feels good to contribute to the well being of the Earth 🙂
  13. Bean: I swear I love Bean more and more each day. Is that even possible? She sure makes life more fun.
  14. Bath & Body Works Candles: say what you will essential oil snobs (I used to be one), those things make my whole house smell soooooo good.
  15. Hair color: I was not blessed with the most beautiful natural color. Hello, mousy brown. I feel very thankful that hair color exists!
  16. My hair training: speaking of hair color, I am very grateful that I have the experience that I do with hair.
  17. My beautiful home: every morning that I wake up and stand at the top of our stairs, I think to myself how much I love our home. I hope that feeling never goes away 🙂
  18. Thrift stores: I don’t know what I would do without them. Spend way too much money, probably.
  19. Hulu Live: after a 7-day free trial period, we just couldn’t give it up. We “cut the cord” many years ago, and fell right into the streaming trap! 😀
  20. The Great British Bake Off: there’s just something so comforting about this darn show! I got addicted while binging it on Netflix when I was super sick this past spring. They recently released Season 1 and I will be so sad when I’m done watching.
  21. My Kitchenaid: I think of this as I prepare to make my traditional homemade french silk pies again this Thanksgiving. I made them with a hand mixer the first year and I will NEVER do that again. If you’ve made french silk pie before, you’ll know why.
  22. Target: Moms across the country, you know where I’m going with this 😉 And the Target in my town just got a remodel and it is AWESOME!
  23. My general health: I say this as I am on recovery day 6 from a recent cycling class injury. You truly don’t appreciate your health until something goes wrong.
  24. The cabin: my parents remodeled our lake house about 2 years ago now, and it is amazing how much more comfortable and relaxing it is up there. We even plan on making a few trips this winter for some creek ice skating and winter 4-wheeling!
  25. Our pontoon: it’s always a sad day when we have to put our beloved “Gilly” away for the winter. We are a family full of water babies 🙂
  26. The Y: we signed up for a family membership at our local YMCA and it has become an almost daily thing I look forward to. Plus, they’ve got a great indoor splash pad that I’m sure we will be using frequently this winter.
  27. Stability: at this point in time, our lives are pretty peaceful. It’s kind of like the health thing, I don’t think you truly appreciate how good things are until something goes wrong. I’m working on taking more time to recognize what we’ve got.
  28. Florida: I LOVE FLORIDA. We are looking forward to a family vacation with my husband’s side to the gulf coast in about 5 weeks and I can’t wait!
  29. Family: speaking of family, I am so grateful to have awesome family on both sides.
  30. Crafting: it’s a hobby of mine that I find quite therapeutic, plus I like knowing that when I see things out and about at the store if it’s too expensive for me I can probably just make it myself!
  31. Free Time: both Bean and I have been enjoying a week off from school, dance, everything. It has been very refreshing 🙂
  32. Spotify: not only do I rely on it for music in the classes I teach, and for finding amazing music for routines, it is so amazing having such a vast array of music at the tips of your fingers. I used to have to make trips to the library and check out CDs for that!
  33. Everest: last but most certainly not least, our fuzzball Everest. When my husband travels for work, I feel so much safer knowing she’s there. Most people wouldn’t dare mess with a 70 pound wolf-looking dog. Little do they know what a sweetheart she is 😉
