Welcome to Betty’s Wonderland

Welcome! I’m Bre!

I’m Bre Paulson, creator of Bre Pea: a DIY and thrift-inspired lifestyle blog focused on creative projects, vintage finds, and making things yourself. I’m a thrifty DIYer, dance teacher by night, and mom to Bean, based in Minnesota with a love for traveling to Florida.

If you’ve ever said, “I don’t need to buy that, I’ll just make it,” you’ll feel right at home here.

Bre Pea is a space for DIY projects, thrifted finds, and vintage-inspired creativity with a little real life mixed in. Around here you’ll find hands-on tutorials, secondhand flips, creative home ideas, and the occasional peek into family life, travel, or whatever project happens to be taking over my table at the moment.

I believe in using what you have, making things your own, and not taking creativity (or life) too seriously.

WHERE CREATIVITY MEETS REAL LIFE

Ok, but what is a “Bre Pea”?

Bre Pea began back in 2010 (originally called Peacoats & Plaid) as a way to document my DIY projects and home ideas long before Pinterest was a thing. It was part creative journal, part experiment, and part “let’s see if this works.”

Over time, the blog grew and evolved just like I did. When Bean came along in 2011, family life naturally became part of the story. And as my interests shifted, the blog needed a name that fit better.

Bre comes from, well… me.
Pea is a nod to the original blog name and my last initial.

Bre Pea became a place for the creative life I actually live. Not just perfectly finished projects but thrift trips, half-painted furniture, family adventures, vintage finds, and learning as I go.
