DIY Mess-Free Summer Road Trip Kit for Kids

I put together this kid-friendly, mess-free summer road trip kit for kids thanks to Jif™Bars and Socialstars. All opinions are my own. #TeamJif

Keep your car (and your kids) clean and mess-free with this easy road trip kit for kids, a great idea for travelling with kids!

We spend a fair amount of time in the car in the summer: driving to Grandma’s for pool time, driving to splash pads, driving to the cabin up north.

During the longer trips I like to have a few essentials in the car to a.) help keep Bean occupied/satisfied and b.) help ensure that the car doesn’t become a disaster zone before we arrive at our destination.

I have never been so excited to purchase a backseat organizer in my life. Sounds like the punchline to a “you might be a lame adult when…” joke, right?

Really, I know this little organizer and road trip kit is going to save our lives! OK, maybe just save our sanity during road trips, but nevertheless I’m loving it!

It’s important to stay hydrated for your summer road trip adventures, right? That’t why I always like to keep an empty water bottle on hand to fill up.

For snacks, we love the Jif™ Bars because they’re perfect for snacking on the go without being messy. I’m so done vacuuming up cracker crumbs from the back seat of my car! Moms you feel me on this, don’t you? Bean loves them because they have the creamy flavor of Jif peanut butter and the crunch of a granola bar.

The wipes are handy in case we have to wipe up sticky fingers or faces. Bean is so good at getting just as much food on her face as she gets into her tummy. Anxiously waiting for her to outgrow that.

Kleenex is practically an essential when you’ve got kids in the car. No-brainer.

I always like to keep hand sanitizer around in the event that we can’t get to a sink to wash our hands. I prefer to not have to use it, but it’s there in case of a germ emergency.

The backseat organizer that we use has a nifty desk, perfect for Bean to pass the time with her activity book and washable markers. Washable is the key here, accidents happen and sometimes markers fall on the floor or end up on the clothes.

Road trips don't have to be messy! This summer road trip kit for kids is perfect for your summer vacations.

I’m glad I’ve replaced the messy crackers with Jif™ Bars for backseat snacking. I think my car is, too.

What’s your favorite snack for on-the-go? Have you tried Jif™ Bars yet? Are you, too, fed up with cracker crumbs getting wedged in the crevices of your car seats? Let’s chat in the comment section below!
