As I am typing this, I am anxiously finishing up my final preparations for the start of another crazy/awesome/inspiring/exhausting/wonderful dance season. We kick off the season with an intense week of what we call Boot Camp: 5 days of intense choreography and training capped off with an all company overnight lock-in at the studio. I’m talking a sleepover with 80+ kids. Fun? Yes. Energy sucking? Yes. Worth it? Heck yes.
To prepare for this epic week of dance, I have listened to more music in the last couple months than you have probably ever heard in your entire life. OK, maybe that’s an overstatement, but I really, really, really do some thorough research when coming up with themes and stories for the season’s routines. I need to be super inspired by the song in order to commit and know that I will be listening to it on repeat for the next 10 months.
I do my music research on my laptop, but to get the full experience of what the song actually sounds like I use my Lenovo™ 500 Bluetooth® Speaker to listen. It gets nice and loud, plus it has best-in-class sound quality, so I can hear all of the subtle boom-clack-tickity-tacks that you might not catch with the laptop speakers. Plus, I can take it with me wherever I go and it’s got a long battery life (up to 4 hours). I know it’s going to get a lot of use when competition season hits and we need to practice backstage!
It also has an embedded microphone so if I get interrupted with a call when I’ve got it connected to my phone, I can just talk through the speaker. It’s so neat!
This thing doesn’t just play dance music, I also love to use it to listen to my favorite podcasts. I’m kind of a podcast addict. If I’m not listening to Florence + the Machine or Cold War Kids, I’m listening to a podcast. I’ve picked up on so many gems of wisdom and gained so much inspiration from them, I want you to experience how great they are (if you haven’t already).
