Now in the spirit of Thanksgiving, and sticking to tradition, my 2019 list of gratitude…

Every year around Thanksgiving, I reflect on the things that I am grateful for. And because I’m a bit anal retentive, I come up with a list that’s as long as how old I am 😉

This is more for me than it is for you, but if you want to get to know me better, check out my list!

34 Things I’m Grateful for in 2019

  1. Brynn: What can I say? She’s an amazing kid, super funny, sweet, easy going, smart, snuggly, I could go on and on 🙂 I feel so lucky that I get to be her Mom.
  2. My Husband: You have to be a pretty special guy to put up with being married to a busy bee like me!
  3. My Husband’s Job: I thank God every single day that my husband has the job security that he does. Sure, the commute is terrible (over an hour one way), but the benefits are amazing!
  4. My Job(s): The older I get, the more I love working with my teenage dancers. They keep me young 😉 And I suppose you can count this blog as job #2. Although it feels more like fun than a “job”!
  5. Our Families: We sure are lucky to have such supportive families! More specifically, I don’t know what I would do without my Mom. She is a total lifesaver.
  6. Lifelong Friends: Even though we don’t make plans often enough, I am so thankful to have some very special friends in my life with years and years of fun and memories! Here’s to growing old together 🙂
  7. This Blog: Because of this blog, we have gotten to have experiences as a family that we wouldn’t have, helped fund our annual family vacations, learned SO MUCH about entrepreneurship that has carried over with the dance studio, it has been such a blessing. Who would have thought that what started as a hobby 9 years ago would turn into this?
  8. Everest: She might be crazy at times, and she might have the loudest/sneeziest way of waking me up every morning, but Everest sure is a giant, fluffy sweetheart. And she keeps me company and makes me feel safe with all the travelling my husband does for his job.
  9. Kitty: Kitty is getting pretty old, and she doesn’t do much more than sleep all day, but she is the prettiest and softest and snuggliest kitty I have ever known. I’m not even a cat person, and we will definitely not be replacing her once she decides her time here is done.
  10. Minnesota: The seasons, the lakes, the snow, the culture, I love everything about Minnesota. Even the accent 😉
  11. Crafting: Some people meditate. I crochet. Or paint. Or tackle another thrift store makeover. Or pull out my Cricut. Or… I could go on and on!
  12. Puzzles: I am a total puzzle nerd. I can zone out, forget all my stress, and sit doing a puzzle for hours. It’s my form of meditation.
  13. My Laptop: As I picked up my laptop the other day to go sit on the couch and do some work, I thought to myself “Here in my hands is this piece of technology that allows me to make money from the comfort of my couch.” That’s pretty cool 😀
  14. A Craft Room/Blog Office: When you’re into a hobby with as many pieces of equipment and supplies as crafting, having a dedicated room to organize all that stuff is an incredible blessing! Plus, I feel like I’m “going to work” when I do my blogging from my office hehe
  15. Florida: More specifically, New Smyrna Beach. It has become our favorite annual tradition. We tried Siesta Key last year and I missed NSB so much! We spend New Years on the beach and escape the snow for a week. It’s the perfect recharge to survive the rest of the long Minnesota winter.
  16. My Disney Glasses: Long story short, I found some vintage McDonald’s Disney glasses at the thrift store for a steal this past September. Every time I drink out of them I smile thinking about the happy memories we have at the parks.
  17. Thrifting: Speaking of thrifting, it’s my favorite form of retail therapy. It’s treasure hunting, bargain seeking, and eco conscious all in one!
  18. Target: When I’m not thrifting, I’m at Target. Ok, not really. But Target is like Mom heaven. And ours just got remodeled and now plays music while you shop. I didn’t know you could improve upon perfection!
  19. Our Emergency Fund: As I’m typing this, we are having our barely functioning, full of scratches from the previous owner’s dog, heat and AC leaking giant patio door FINALLY replaced thanks to our emergency savings fund. The peace of mind it gives our family is priceless.
  20. Dave Ramsey: Speaking of our emergency fund, we have one all thanks to the teachings of Dave Ramsey. Because of him, our family has been DEBT FREE since 2012!
  21. Beachbody on Demand: After realizing I was the only one using our SUPER expensive family YMCA membership, I found Beachbody On Demand. And I LOVE IT! I’m actually exercising more frequently than I was when we had a gym membership, and it’s a fraction of the cost!
  22. Coffee: It makes my list every year. For obvious reasons.
  23. My New Backpack Purse: I went from a giant purse, to a tiny clutch that I would constantly freak out over because I thought I lost it, to a backpack purse. It’s convenient, hands-free, and holds anything a mom could ever need!
  24. Comedy: There’s nothing like having a good laugh. It keeps me sane. From a good stand-up show, to Mystery Science Theater 3000 reruns, to watching Christmas Vacation for the 30th time, I love it all.
  25. My Phone: I am pretty spoiled. I got the new Galaxy S10+ this past summer and it is awesome. I’m a die-hard Android fan.
  26. My DSLR: this is another gem that makes my list each year. I love photography and I am so grateful to have such a nice camera that I get to play with 🙂
  27. Podcasts: I wish my commute to work were longer just so I could listen to podcasts more! Some of my current favs: My Favorite Murder, This Might Get Weird, Unf*ck Your Brain, and for blogging related stuff Theory of Content.
  28. Brynn’s School: Brynn has had 3 incredible teachers for the past 3 years that she has been at her elementary school. Plus, they have such adorable traditions (like the Halloween Parade of People and Veteran’s Day Ceremony).
  29. Our Home: Every day I wake up in the morning and walk down our stairs, I stop and look around and think about how much I love our home. I hope that feeling never, ever fades.
  30. The Cabin: I don’t know how any Minnesotans can survive a gorgeous Minnesota summer without having a cabin to go to every weekend. I would literally die 😉
  31. Our Pontoon: We practically spent every single weekend this summer on Gilly (yes, we named our pontoon). It was magical.
  32. My Air Fryer: I had the privilege to collaborate with NewAir this past summer on an air fryer review and OH MY GOSH MY LIFE WAS FOREVER CHANGED! You will never make chicken any other way once you make it in an air fryer. I guarantee it.
  33. Our Rokus: We’ve tried almost all of them. Rokus are the bomb when it comes to streaming devices. We love them so much we now own 2.
  34. Fuzzy Blankets: Last but most certainly not least, fuzzy blankets. I spend my winter days working on my laptop wrapped up in a cozy fuzzy blanket. Thanks for keeping me warm and snuggly 😉
