Thrifted Vintage Inspired Master Bedroom Tour

This post has been at least a year in the making.

What was once a bedroom I thought I loved, quickly became bland and boring to me. Probably because I went with a color palette that was totally not “me”.

And then, I found THE bed that set this makeover all off.

It was high time that we replace our old thrifted headboard and bedframe (that was severely under-supporting our mattress and box spring). It was one of the first DIYs I ever posted on this blog, so it held a special place in my heart 🙂

If you didn’t click the link above, this is the before…

Organic and glam master bedroom decor ideas, love the mix of silver and gold!

Not bad, but it wasn’t really my jam anymore, I was sick of rockin the light and airy vibe. And that was a Portlandia reference for those who might not have caught that… 😉

And the after…

Just ignore the weird “boob light”… we haven’t quite yet replaced it.

I fell in LOVE with this art deco inspired navy velvet bedframe when I found it online. I’m in my 30s, I think I finally deserved a nice bed 😉

We opted to use the box spring for an extra tall bed (which I wanted for years) and it completely revitalized our beloved Brooklyn Bedding mattress! It was like we were sleeping on a brand new one.

This bed comes with both brass and silver legs, so it was perfect to go along with the brass accent theme.

We also have literally the cheapest carpet in our house (it’s a former rental that was flipped) so a soft shag rug was a must.

Once I found the bed, the rest of the pieces were able to slowly fall into place.

I knew I wanted to go with a navy/brass/pink accent color palette, so whenever I thrifted I kept my eye out.

Then I found this beauty of a mid century modern hanging candle holder. I knew it would look perfect in the corner.

I found the velvet navy blue curtains and gold velvet shams on Amazon.

A warning for those of you that might decide to buy these curtains… they are incredibly good at room darkening and they will make it impossible to get out of bed in the morning. 😉

I happened to stumble across a brand called Hellcats USA on TikTok and instantly fell in love with their style. They’re a Florida based, husband and wife business and I think I might just eventually buy everything.

Their “All the Same on the Inside” print was the perfect way to bring a pop of pink to the bedroom.

I finished the ledge with a few more prints from Urban Outfitters and Fy.

I bought my ledge at IKEA, but you could easily build your own with my ledge shelf tutorial!

Every picture frame (except the “All the Same” print) was a thrifted find that I spray painted. I literally never buy picture frames retail anymore.

Unless I have a very specific size piece of art to frame. Like the poster size Hellcats USA print.

You might have already seen on the blog that the lamps were a thrifted project from over a year ago. That’s how long I’ve been working on putting this bedroom together!

And there you have it, my thrifted vintage inspired master bedroom! If you’d like to see where I bought everything so you can purchase it too, check out the sources below…
